Tickets to the big ballets
The Bolshoi Ballet's staging of "Le Corsaire" is back in town through this weekend, part of its exclusive North American tour at the Kennedy Center Opera House. The plot follows a slave's swashbuckling journey through abductions and dramatic rescues, all culminating in a shipwreck that's one of the most breathtaking spectacles in ballet.
Our ailing economy is probably the reason there are still tickets available to his hot engagement. There's even a special offer: If you purchase a full price seat to the Bolshoi, you get $15 off prime orchestra seating for an upcoming performance by The Royal Ballet, dancing at the KenCen June 23 to 28. The best bet here is "Manon," based on a classic French novel and set to the music of Massenet. Call toll free 800-444-1324 or visit www.kennedy-center.org. (Carolyn Kelemen)
