Coffeehouse bluegrass

The Howard County-based bluegrass band Big River performs at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbia's One World Coffeehouse Sat., June 28 at 7 p.m. in the Owen Brown Interfaith Center. The group's multi-instrumentalists, who have been making music for more than 30 years, will perform such bluegrass mainstays as "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" and "Rocky Top." Celtic connection

Multi-instrumentalist and Celtic guitar whiz Robin Bullock will perform Thu., June 26, 8 p.m., at Baldwin's Station & Pub in Sykesville. Bullock will perform his own arrangements of traditional works, such as Irish jigs and Appalachian ballads. Admission is $18. Call 410-795-1041.

Live at the Lakefront

Gemini at HCC

Howard Community College's music department will present a concert featuring participants in the Gemini Piano Trio's chamber music workshop Sat., June 28, 7:30 p.m., in Monteabaro Recital Hall. On the bill will be violin and piano duos and trios by such composers as Bach, Vivaldi, Haydn, Mozart, Schubert, Borodin, and Ravel.
