Linda and Mark Morelock, of Columbia, and Cheryl and Jeff Whitaker, of Annapolis, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kimberly Whitaker, to Jeffrey Ervick, son of Patricia and Ron Ervick, of Whitehouse Station, N.J.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Hammond High School and later of North Carolina State University, where she received a bachelor's degree in business management. She is a pharmaceutical sales representative with Sanofi-Aventis.

The future groom graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor's degree in business information technology. He is an account manager at Insight Global.

A May 2009 wedding is planned.
