Amanda B. Harrison and Stephen J. Stafford

Barbara and Mark Harrison, of Ellicott City, announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Beth Harrison, to Stephen James Stafford, son of Janet and Richard Stafford, of Derwood.

The bride-to-be is a 1999 graduate of Hammond High School and a 2003 graduate of the University of Maryland, where she graduated cum laude with a dual bachelor's degree in transportation, and logistics and marketing. She is currently a graduate student at Georgetown University, studying business administration. She is employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a strategic planning specialist.

The future groom is a 1999 graduate of Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville and a 2003 graduate of the University of Maryland, where he graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a master's degree in electrical engineering. He is an electrical engineer with Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab.

An October wedding is planned.
