Sara Tuman and Aric Shafran

Joy and Robert Tuman, of Andover, Mass., announce the marriage of their daughter, Sara Tuman, to Aric Shafran, son of Sandra and Isaac Shafran, of Columbia, on June 29, 2009. Rabbi Norman Mendel officiated.

The bride received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Union College in New York and went on to receive a master's degree in occupational therapy from Colorado State University. She is an occupational therapist with Compass Health.

The groom received both his bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science from Cornell University. He received a doctorate degree from the University of Colorado and is now an assistant professor at Cal Poly State University.

The ceremony and reception were held at Edna Valley Vineyard in San Luis Obispo, Calif. Naomi Tuman, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor, and Samuel Sorkin served as best man.

The couple honeymooned in Kauai, Hawaii and reside in San Luis Obispo.
