Ellen J. Wilkie and Michael J. Kowal IV

Lynne and David Wilkie, of Ellicott City, announce the engagement of their daughter, Ellen Jin Wilkie, to Michael J. Kowal IV, son of Linda and Michael J. Kowal III, of Blairsville, Pa., formerly of Ellicott City.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Mt. Hebron High School and St. Mary's College of Maryland. She is a technology teacher for Howard County Public Schools and is pursuing a master's degree at Loyola College.

The future groom is a graduate of Mt. Hebron High School and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He was an officer in the U.S. Army and now serves in the U.S. Army Reserves. He is employed by Kinder Morgan in Pittsburgh.

A June 2009 wedding is planned.
