Tom and Sherrie Kirkpatrick, of Laurel, announce the engagement of their daughter, Julie Kirkpatrick, to Harry Simmons, son of Skip Simmons, of Washington, D.C., and Beverly Simmons, of Laurel.

A 2000 graduate of Atholton High School and a 2004 graduate of Salisbury University, the bride-to-be is an executive assistant for the Center for Medical Technology Policy in Baltimore.

The future groom is a 1996 graduate of St. Vincent Pallotti High School and a 2003 graduate of Towson University. He works as a corporate recruiter for XLHealth Inc., in Baltimore.

A May 2010 wedding is planned.
