Nechama Lisa Malkiel, of Columbia, was married on May 24, 2009, to Tobias "Toby" Reiter, of Charlottesville, Va.

The bride is a graduate of Wilde Lake High School and the University of Maryland. She was a Hebrew school teacher and office manager for Temple Sinai in Washington, D.C.

The groom is a graduate of the University of Virginia and is a Web designer for the Smithsonian Archives of American Art.

The couple will further their Jewish studies in Jerusalem, with the bride pursuing a master's degree in Jewish education.

The ceremony was performed in the Ellicott City garden of close family friends who provided live music. The reception was held at the Other Barn, where Nechama had her Bat Mitzvah party in 1994. Nechama's wedding dress was designed and sewn by her close friend and Wilde Lake High School classmate Courtney Galiber.

The couple honeymooned in Burlington, Vt.
