Stephanie Nicole Hunter, of Columbia, received the Phi Delta Kappa International 2009 Scholarship for Prospective Educators. She is a student at Spelman College.

Marina Catherine Metzler, of Columbia and daughter of Mary and Mark Metzler, was on the dean's list at Ohio Wesleyan University for the spring 2009 semester.

Kelly Morgan McLin, of Columbia and daughter of Catherine and Stuart McLin, graduated from Juanita College with a degree in biology with a secondary emphasis in psychology. She was also on the dean's list for the spring 2009 semester. McLin is a 2005 graduate of Atholton High School.

Micayla Diener, of Columbia, was named to the dean's list for the spring 2009 semester at Widener University in Chester, Pa.

The following Columbia residents graduated from St. Mary's College of Maryland: Harper Peterson Denhard, Valerie Anne Freund, Monica Stella Kim, Elizabeth Wywialowski Smith, Justin Edward Tepe, Claire Noelle Tolbert, Carmen Tong and James Kiehl Wade.
