Doris and Paul Menehan celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 14, 2009.

The couple was married at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Washington, D.C., in 1959. Mrs. Menehan, born in Hilo, Hawaii, and Mr. Menehan, born in San Francisco, have been residents of Fulton since July 1964.

Mr. Menehan retired from the National Security Agency in 1988 after 39 years of service, including two years active duty with the United States Marine Corps serving on the front lines during the Korean conflict. Mrs. Menehan retired from Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in 1989.

Their son, David, and his wife Valentina have one daughter, 2-year-old Sophia.

Their daughter, Kathleen, and her husband, Michael, have seven children. Their oldest daughter, Ruth Spinolo, was married to Ryan Abel June 14, the same day as her grandparents' golden anniversary.

A celebration was held at Rosedale Manor, in Hollywood, and the couple took a trip to Maui June 18.
