Car Seat Installation, Warm Clothes Drive this Friday

Each year, children die needlessly because of improperly installed car seats. As part of Howard County’s “Community Readiness Week”, you can ensure that your children ride in safety seats that are properly installed and maintained by coming to the Fifth District Volunteer Fire Station on Signal Bell Lane near Routs 32 and 108 on Friday, Nov. 7.

Your child’s seat will be inspected by a certified seat technician between the hours of 2 and 5 p.m. It’s too late to prepare after an accident. Be prepared now. Inspections will be done on a first-come, first-served basis. No appointments are needed for this important free service.

While you’re in the area, you might want to help others be prepared for the frigid days ahead. Drop off new or gently used clean ready to wear winter coats, hats or mittens at River Hill High. Nov. 7 is the final day for the RHHS-PTSA sponsored Coat Drive. If you have questions about this one, call Terry at 301-854-1125.
