Hooray! We’re Still the Champions

The River Hill Marching Band competed in its last competition of the season, the 3rd annual U.S. Scholastic Band Association National Championships Nov. 7 at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis. They came home the still reigning Group II (based on size) national champion.

The Marching Band scored an impressive 98.25 out of 100. This appears to be the second highest score ever by a USSBA band and is most likely the highest score ever by a Maryland band. The event hosted more than 70 bands from Massachusetts to Tennessee. RHHS also took specialty awards for Best Visual, Best Effects, Best Music and Best Color Guard. Band members worked incredibly hard to accomplish their goals.

Congratulations, you’ve earned your place in the sun and we’re all very proud of you.
