Is a young person in your house thinking about a career in music? “So You Want To Major In Music?” will be presented at River Hill High School Monday, Nov. 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the Auditorium. Should you choose a conservatory or liberal arts college? How do you prepare for an audition? Will you choose music education, performance or technology?
These important topics and more will be presented. Go to www.riverhillmusic.org for more info. Click on any of the blue topics to be covered. To avoid paper waste, hand-outs will NOT be available. Print your own. If you still have questions, e-mail joe_fischer@hcpss.org.
Looking for something yummy for the tummy? Enjoy a hearty country breakfast with friends and family in the lovely Ten Oaks Ballroom Sunday, Nov. 23 from 8 a.m. until noon. You’ve seen makeovers on television, but this Saturday night, you can see the real thing live in the bar at oZ Chophouse in Maple Lawn/Fulton from 7-9 p.m.
Lyn Lazzara and all the staff at Biago Salon and Spa are so excited about the big event. Friends and family members made nominations for the First Annual Makeover. After careful consideration, Cheryl Mallonee was selected to receive a day of pampering at Biago, an outfit from Simply Divine, dinner for two from oZ, jewelry from Silpada-Carol Hayes, a photo shoot with Ikd Photography and then she’ll be whisked away to Oz Chophouse for the fantastic Reveal.
Come join the fun and see the transformation when they reveal the Makeover winner. There’s more. There will be a free raffle of five gift baskets full of great items from Biago, Simply Divine, Silpada Jewelry-Carol Hayes, Ikd Photography and oZ Chophouse. One hundred gift bags will be distributed to guests. Plus Biago will raffle several Gift Certificates for services. Pamper yourself or pick up a welcome holiday gift.
The party won’t be the same without you. Mark your calendar Saturday, Nov. 22 from 7-9 p.m. at oZ Chophouse in the bar.
There is, or soon will be, holiday music in the air everywhere. A highlight of the holiday season in Clarksville is the annual Tiny Tots concert presented by the River Hill High School Music Department.
The 12th annual Tiny Tots concert is scheduled for Dec. 17 at 10 a.m. The holiday-themed concert presents lively instrumental and vocal entertainment for the delight of pre-schoolers and elementary-aged children.
Grandparents and other seniors find it equally enjoyable as Rudolph, Frosty and many friendly elves make appearances. Admission is $5 per person. There are discounts for larger groups. Information and reservation request forms can be found at www.riverhillmusic.org.
All day Wednesday, Nov. 19, you can support the National Champion Marching Band members and other wonderfully talented musicians of River Hill High School. Go to Pizzeria Uno in the Long Gate shopping center for lunch or dinner and tell them you are supporting RHHS. A portion of your payment will benefit the school music program.
The second way to support the music program while providing good nutrition for your family is the citrus sale. River Hill Music Boosters will offer fresh Florida Navel oranges, Ruby Red grapefruit, Tangerines and variety packs for delivery Dec. 13. Order by Dec. 2 for gift-giving and to ward off winter bugs. For more information and order forms go to www.riverhillmusic.org. Follow the links for fundraising and citrus fruit or e-mail rhhsfruit@verizon.net.
