The Ellis Woodward Trio will be the featured entertainment at River Hill Shopping Center Friday, Aug. 8, 6-8 p.m. This is part of the free summer Courtyard Concert series. Bring family, friends and food or buy supper from a local vendor. You might also like to bring a comfy lawn chair. All are welcome.
Howard County is facing a critical shortage of certified school bus drivers. You’ll need the right kind of commercial driver’s license and some additional training. On average, the pay is about $15 per hour. Drivers work four to 10 hours per day, depending on the contractor and runs assigned.
If you’re interested in helping out, call the Office of Student Transportation at 410-313-6733.
Since I last looked, there have been changes to the schedule for the free summer Courtyard Concert series at River Hill shopping center. Joe Carta will be featured tonight, Aug. 1, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Many in the area are familiar with Carta’s very popular country/western band. All are welcome to come out and share a toe-tapping good time.
How’s your car looking? Is it ready for a bath? Cub Scout Pack 720 will be all set up and washing cars this Saturday, Aug. 2, 1-4 p.m., in the parking lot of Linden-Linthicum United Methodist Church off Route 108 across from the Free State gas station. Come and get your car all spruced up and looking good. The cost is a donation. The boys are counting on your support.
Hot food and cool treats await patrons of the newly opened Pepio’s eatery in the Clarksville Crossing Center on Ten Oaks Road just off Route 108, in Clarksville.
Owners Gene and Jenny Park whip up some of the yummiest cool treats on the planet. Mango Italian Ice is created with fresh mango. Add a dollop of old-fashioned frozen custard and you have an out-of-this-world delight.
“If somebody comes here one time, they will come again,” Gene Park said.
I think he’s right. He also noted the outdoor dining patio, shaded in the afternoon. Come relax and chat with friends or sit alone inside with the paper or other reading material.
The shop features more than cool treats. There are homemade soups, salads, sandwiches, speciality coffees, teas and more. Even the hummus is homemade.
Pepio’s is open for breakfast, lunch, supper and snacks Mon-Thur from 7 a.m.-8 p.m., Fri 7 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sat. 8 a.m.-9 p.m. You can call in your order at 410-531-7182.
