Fifth District FVD Event a Hit

By Darleen Sanford

All you could eat pizza, cookies and photos with Santa. Who could resist such an offer? Not Tara Ruehl of Lisbon. She got daughters Rachel, age 6 and Kristin, age 4 all dressed up and headed to the Fifth District Fire Station. They accidentally arrived early. All those super nice and cute firefighters were still busy setting up for the event, but not too busy to provide a cool tour for the early arrivals. One of the firemen showed them every piece of equipment at the station. When Santa arrived in an engine with sirens and lights, the kids all went nuts. It was great!

Tara says the gentleman in the red suit was the nicest, sweetest, realest Santa she’s ever seen. He was the real Santa, maybe. Kristin’s red dress was a perfect match for Santa’s outfit and she was brave enough to chat and pose for a photo. Rachel chickened out, but she was such a dear little reindeer wearing her antlers that I’m sure Santa will deliver presents for her, too.

Hats off to the members of the Fifth District Volunteer Fire Department for an outstanding event.
