Geordie Paulus named Maryland Outstanding Technology Leader

Geordie Paulus, the Technology Support Teacher at Elkridge Landing Middle School been named Maryland Outstanding Technology Leader in Education for the entire state!

“We are proud to nominate Ms. Geordie Paulus, our extraordinary Technology Support Teacher, for the Maryland Outstanding Technology Leader in Education Award. Geordie has been a pioneer here in Howard County and at our school by being the first Technology Support Teacher at the middle level. In this recently created pilot-position, she has been responsible for creating and facilitating professional development activities to increase the use of technology by teachers and students; collaborating with leaders within our school to create a comprehensive technology plan that maximizes the use of the hardware and software provided by our county; and modeling the integration of technology into all aspects of our school’s culture to increase student engagement and staff productivity,” said Principal Tom Saunders, along with the ELMS staff during the nomination process.

“Geordie’s passion for technology has driven her to reach beyond the staff to the entire community. She has developed and implemented various technology related programs for the students in our school as well as co-teaching classes. Geordie has also hosted evening parent programs to ensure that technology is being used effectively and safely at home”, said Linda Scrivener, GT Resource Teacher at Elkridge Landing Middle School.

“Without question, Geordie is admired and respected by students, parents, colleagues and leaders at the Central Office. Her knowledge and her ability to work effectively with all types of people have earned her the finest reputation among all who know her,” Saunders added.
