St. Augustine School, in Elkridge, is very pleased to announce the success of the school’s 2009 Spelling Bee.

Congratulations to Laura Arvin, the overall winner from grades 4-6!  She will go on to compete in the Archdiocesan competition.

The other winners include: Taylor Swenski , first runner-up, James Peyla, grade 7-8 overall winner, Davida Amponsah, first runner-up, Isabelle Gabin grade 4, Emily Thompson grade 5 and Samantha Brunner grade 8.
In this day and age, with high technological gadgets everywhere, it’s a challenge for children to focus on spelling skills when the rest of the world is clicking on spell check.
