Each year, all the middle schools in Howard County compete in the Lacy Memorial Tennis Tournament. This year it was held at River Hill High School in the middle of May. Elkridge Landing Middle School was well represented by seventh-graders Ajay Chatim, Jay Pancholi and Max Balter.
Ajay and Jay competed for the first time as a doubles team and faced tough competition in their first match.
Max participated in the singles competition again this year to try to repeat his singles championship from last year. Max was down 1-3, 15-40 in the finals when all games were called for a rain delay. The next day Max came back in great form to win the seventh-grade singles and reclaim his championship! Hooray for Max!
Congratulations to Max, Ajay and Jay for proudly representing ELMS in this annual county tennis tournament.
Tom Saunders, principal of the school congratulated the boys on their participation in the competition and presented Max with his championship trophy during the morning Newsbreak.
