Retirement planning workshop Saturday at Ellicott Mills Middle School

The Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks is offering a Retirement Planning Workshop at Ellicott Mills Middle School Saturday, Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. to noon.

With the economy in its current state, it is more important than ever to protect your assets, avoid spending on unnecessary taxes and plan for financial success in retirement. Simple strategies and techniques can help you preserve all your hard-earned savings and avoid costly mistakes in your financial decision-making. Understand the latest IRA tax laws, discover how to stretch out your IRA distribution, discuss 401(k) plans and company stock, and much more.

Instructor Roger Desai is a certified financial educator who has 15 years of experience as a Registered Adviser in the financial services industry and is a long-time adjunct faculty member at several local colleges.
