River Hill wins county tennis cup

River Hill won it’s fifth county tennis cup in six years, edging runner-up Atholton Wednesday afternoon at the Wilde Lake Tennis Club.

Individual championship results follow.

Boys singles: Mt. Hebron’s Sam Wichlin defeated Atholton’s John Healey, 6-3, 6-3.

Girls singles: Marriotts Ridge’s Haley Katsman defeated Atholton’s Julia Southerland, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3.

Boys doubles: Howard’s Kyle Woolaver and Thomas Hoesman defeated Atholton’s Brandon Mao and Sean Hagaman, 6-0, 6-4.

Girls doubles: River Hill’s Taylor Fenlon and Kelley Miller defeated Centennial’s Patti Lin and Chelsea Bradkovich, 6-0, 3-6, 7-5.

Mixed doubles: River Hill’s Lamie Nguyen and Akshay Raju defeated River Hill’s Rena Shi and Joe Jaffe, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2.
