Jeannette Kendall, president and founder of Ellicott City-based Success In Style, was selected as the first-place winner of the Soroptimist, South Atlantic Region, Making a Difference for Women Award.

The Soroptimist Making a Difference for Women Award honors women who, through their professional and or personal efforts, are making differences in the lives of women and girls.

Nancy Warner Tucker, a resident of Ellicott City, was welcomed as a new member of the board for Family and Childrens' Services of Central Maryland, a private, nonprofit, nonsectarian social services organization.

Eric Mauser, local business owner of Play It Again Sports of Ellicott City, was recognized with multiple Sales Excellence Awards at the annual event for Play It Again Sports at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.
