College Center to offer course on voice-over skills

Dan Levine, a Tony Award nominee and Clio Award-winning commercial producer, will teach a course, "You're On The Air ... How to Really Make it In Voice-Overs," on Tuesday July 14 from 7-9 p.m. at Laurel College Center, 312 Marshall Ave., Suite 205. The introductory course is designed to help students gain awareness and knowledge of the growing industry. Topics covered in the class include basic voice-over technique, how to get started in the industry, differences between commercial and narration work, advantages and disadvantages of joining a union, home studios and creating and marketing a demo. Students will have an opportunity to practice recording, and hear the results before they leave.
