The award recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. The USCA identifies companies that they feel have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category.
Winners are determined based on information gathered by the USCA and data from third parties.
Mathnasium, the children's year-round learning center specializing in math skills, has opened its newest location in Columbia, at Columbia Palace Plaza, 108 Centre Park Drive, Suite 4. The Howard County Bird Club, a chapter of the Maryland Ornithological Society, announced the second annual Youth Birding Essay Contest. Applicants must be Howard County residents between the ages of 9-13. Pervious winners are not eligible.
The topic of the essay is: My Favorite Birdwatching Experience. There is a 250-word limit.
The prize for the best essay will be a backpack containing a pair of Triumph 8 x 42 binoculars, field guide and a one-year free membership in the Howard County Bird Club.
