Former Howard County Circuit Court Associate Judge Donna Hill Staton has been elected to the boards of Howard Bank and Howard Bancorp.
Staton grew up in Howard County and served as an associate judge on the Circuit Court from 1995 to 1996, becoming the county's first black trial judge and just the second black woman to serve on any circuit court in the state.
She later became the first black female deputy attorney general for the state of Maryland. She is a graduate of Wilde Lake High School, Princeton University and George Washington University Law School.
David Gertler, of Ellicott City, won the inaugural Wharton Business School alumni contest. The contest consisted of a simulated company's plans to launch a new service in an emerging market.
He is the president of KryptoCore Inc. and director of SIGINT Programs at L-3 Communications.
John M. Dunn, administrative director of imaging services at Howard County General Hospital, became a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a professional society in the health care industry.
Dunn joined Johns Hopkins Medicine in 1996, and has served at Howard County General Hospital for the past seven years.
