"Angel Street" -- Laurel Mill Playhouse, 508 Main St., holding auditions for two male and three female roles, Sunday, Nov. 30 at 4:30 p.m. and Monday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. If call backs are necessary, they will be held Tuesday, Dec. 2 from 7-9 p.m. Director Gerald George will have sides available for cold readings from the script. First presented under the title "Gas Light," "Angel Street," a Victorian thriller by Patrick Hamilton, tells the demoniac story of the Manninghams of Angel Street, a thrilling and exciting melodramatic game. The play will run Jan. 16 through Feb. 8 on Friday and Saturday evenings with two selected Sunday matinees and one selected Thursday evening performance. Community choir -- Singers are invited to join a community choir for the second annual performance of "Trilogy of Dreams," a 30-minute musical work to honor Martin Luther King Jr. The piece, composed by Dr. Mack Statham, organist of First United Methodist Church of Laurel, will be performed on Sunday, Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Laurel in a Dr. King celebration sponsored by the city of Laurel and Laurel Clergy Association. Rehearsals will be Dec. 13 and Jan. 3, 10 a.m. to noon, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 13611 Laurel-Bowie Road (Route 197). Jam session

Laurel jam session -- First and third Wednesdays from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Phelps Senior Citizens Center, 701 Montgomery St. Under the coordination of local musician Bob Bowman, interested experienced and novice musicians are invited to sit in for an open jam. Music includes folk, bluegrass, Celtic, jazz, ragtime, polka and traditional. Children must be supervised.

"Best Christmas Pageant Ever" -- Produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc., written by Barbara Robinson and directed by Jeaneo Binney and Patti Knazik, this holiday favorite opens Friday, Nov. 28, 8 p.m., Laurel Playhouse, 508 Main St., and runs through Dec. 21 on Friday and Saturday evenings with Sunday matinees on Dec. 7 and 21 at 2 p.m. and a Thursday evening performance on Dec. 4 at 8 p.m. There will be no show on Friday, Dec. 5.
