Just follow the Star. That's what to look for Friday-Sunday, December 19-21. The First Baptist Church of Savage is once again sponsoring their Annual "Walk Through Bethlehem." In addition, other community church members will be working in Bethlehem to make this event a success.

For those who take the walk through Bethlehem, it is intended to provide a "sort of" real life re-enactment of how Bethlehem may have been during the time of Jesus' birth.

This annual Christian event draws crowds from our community and the local surrounding areas. Be sure to mark your calendars and visit the FBC (Savage) to "take the walk."

The Youth Group from the FBC (Savage) took Thanksgiving dinner plates to more than 50 people living in various motels in our area.

The Youth Group has done this annual delivery for more than 15 years and enjoys helping make others' holiday season a more enjoyable time.

Pictures of the group are posted on the Savage blog on www.explorehoward.com, the Patuxent Publishing Web site. If you take a close look at the picture, you will be able to tell that some "youth" never grow up. As Billy Ganoe said, "this is one way to give back to those in need and help make their holiday better."

Members of the Savage Volunteer Fire Company wanted to let the community know that Santa Claus will be coming to town. On Christmas Eve, children of all ages in our community will be able to enjoy seeing Santa being driven around in the fire truck by members of the SVFC.

This annual tradition is the highlight of the year for SVFC members as they enjoy making some children's evening a little more special.

I want to wish a very happy birthday and happy anniversary to my readers who will be celebrating in the upcoming week.

I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Happy Holiday!
