The 2008 holidays are now behind us though the remnants remain. The Christmas lights are still bright throughout the neighborhoods, giving the cold dark winter nights a kind of hopeful and still celebratory aura.

Our lives have gone back to some sort of normalcy and schools and churches will go back to their regular schedules and programs. Be sure to call or email me with any good news in the community such as special birthdays, anniversaries, weddings or special academic or community awards.

It is important to recognize and remember in prayer our men and women serving in the military. Please let me know about your family members and friends.

Danielle Dernoga will be appearing as a storyteller in the musical "Children of Eden" at Greenbelt Arts Center. This show features beautiful music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, who also wrote "Wicked" and "Godspell." The musical is loosely based on the Book of Genesis, and tells the story of Adam and Eve, Cain, Abel and Noah and the flood The show runs Jan. 23-Feb. 7.
