Career and Technical Education offices of Prince George's County Public Schools will host a Technical Academy open house, Wednesday, Jan. 14,  6:30-8 p.m., at Laurel High's media center,  8000 Cherry Lane. The programs, which prepare students for post-secondary education, as well as provide  technical training, are organized under seven Maryland Career Clusters: arts, media and communication; consumer service, hospitality and tourism; construction and development; health and biosciences; environmental, agriculture and natural resources; information technology; and transportation technologies. Programs are available to students in grades 11 and 12 at nine high school sites throughout the county. To attend, students must submit an application (available in all high school guidance offices), and are selected based on their career interest, academic achievement and attendance.
