As this is the weekend that Christians remember and celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus, you are reminded that each of the local churches will be holding special Easter services.
In addition, the community Easter sunrise service will be held at the Savage United Methodist Church beginning at 7 a.m. All community members are invited to attend the community sunrise service and to attend any of our local churches for their individual Easter services.
The Savage Historical Society will be holding their monthly meeting April 20 at 7 p.m., in the Faith & Ministry Center, 9032 Baltimore St. (please use side entrance off Foundry Street). The topic for the monthly meeting will be informal historical discussions, Savage Fest participation and 2010 calendar project.
Society secretary Helen Rushing wants to encourage all community members to join. If you would like information about the SHS, call 301-725-1241 and Helen will gladly provide you with SHS information.
For those who may want to buy a SHS calendar, please note that they are sold prior to each monthly meeting from 6:15 to 6:45 p.m. In addition, if you would like to view the SHS files maintained for past years, Helen makes those available for community member viewing the first and third Tuesday of every month from 1 to 4 p.m.
Usually relaxing and massage treatments are in the same sentence when women discuss what they really like to do when they are being pampered.
Well, not this time. The Art Of Hair Salon, located in the Historic Savage Mill, is having a Men's Groom Day on April 24. Men who visit this salon from 4 to 7 p.m. and want to take a 15-minute break to enjoy a little relaxation, will receive a complimentary T3 experience with the purchase of a Tea Tree product.
So, for those guys who may be feeling a little stressed -- and yes, ladies, the men do have their stressful days, too (at least I am told they do) -- are offered the opportunity to take a 15 minute break, get a sample spa treatment and enjoy some light refreshments.
This T3 experience combines scalp treatment, cleansing and relaxing massage. Just enough to wet a guy's appetite for more spa treatments! Perhaps after you guys "taste" a little pampering, you will truly understand why we women enjoy a day at the spa!
I have seen many young people riding their skateboards throughout our community. Here is a piece of news that might interest those with skateboarding abilities. The Department of Recreation and Parks for Howard County is opening their newest skateboard park.
On April 25 at 11 a.m. in the Centennial Park, North Skate Spot, families are all invited to visit this newest Howard County skating park. There will be live performances by Rascals Skate Team, which will certainly prove to entertain persons of all ages.
There will be door prizes and giveaways provided by Skate.Snow.Surf and Omega Skateboards.
This action-packed event is a free event opened to the public. Ella Carter is able to address any questions you may have concerning this upcoming event and can be reached by calling 410-313-1671.
I want to wish all of my readers celebrating either a birthday or an anniversary during the upcoming week a very happy one.
(P.S. -- Be sure to watch out for the Easter Bunny. Have a great and blessed Easter weekend!)
