As an elementary school student many years ago, I remember taking the Presidential Physical Fitness Test each year during physical education class. While I could run really fast, and do many sit-ups, I was never too good at the chin-ups.
If you also have memories of taking this test as a youngster, you may be interested to learn that what started with its roots as a national youth fitness test has now grown up in a big way. An adult team is currently forming at the Glenwood Community Center to get fit and take the Presidential Fitness Challenge.
All who participate will receive a Presidential Fitness Challenge T-shirt and certificate. The adult fitness test is for people ages 18 and older who are in good health. Community Center fitness trainers will offer weekly sessions to assist in completing exercises. Workouts begin June 1. For additional information, call the Glenwood Community Center at 410-313-4840.
