River Hill High School stages production

The River Hill High School Theatre Arts Department will stage a production of Noel Coward’s “Blithe Spirit.”
Written and first produced in 1941, “Blithe Spirit” is a droll comedy concerning socialite and novelist Charles Condomine, who is haunted by the ghost of his first wife, Elvira, following a séance held by the eccentric medium and clairvoyant, Madame Arcati.
Past and present River Hill and Marriotts Ridge Fine Arts students are featured in the cast and crew.
The cast includes Gabe Fremuth (RHHS ‘07) as Charles Condomine, Sara Vanasse (RHHS ‘09) as Ruth Condomine, Amanda Ogorzalek (RHHS ‘08) as Elvira, Jamie Driskill (RHHS ‘04) as Dr. Bradman, Michelle Shankar (RHHS ‘08) as Mrs. Bradman, Abby Schwarz (MRHS ‘08) as Edith, Rocky Bostick (RHHS ‘09 ) as the Pianist, and Pam Land (RHHS Director of Theatre Arts) as Madame Arcati.
The set and props will be designed by Mike Leon (RHHS ‘07). He will also supervise the set and prop construction. The lighting will be designed by Robert Kubisen (MRHS ‘09 ). Nick Woodhouse (RHHS ‘09), Jimmy Hession (RHHS ‘09), and Martin Proulx (RHHS ‘10 ) will be the production stage managers, leading a crew of current RHHS and MRHS students. Mike Brophy (RHHS ‘09) will be the sound designer and David Llanso (RHHS ‘12) and Jonathan Kwolek (MRHS ‘10) will serve as sound technicians. Gabe Fremuth (RHHS ’07) will also produce the pre-production video trailer. Long-time RHHS friend and Director of Marriotts Ridge Theatre Arts teacher, Sally Livingston, will direct, and Cara Antico (MRHS Class of ‘08) will assist.
The performances take place on June 25, 26 and 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the River Hill High School auditorium. Tickets are $10. Proceeds from the production will go to “The You Can Always Come Home Players Fine Arts Scholarship Fund.”
Advanced sale of tickets begins on June 4 in the River Hill front office: Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For assistance, call 410-313-7120 and ask for Nancy Duffy or Carla Styczynski. Tickets will also be sold at the door on performance nights. The box office will open 90 minutes prior to curtain.
