The 2009 swim season for the Russett Sharks is in full swing and the Sharks are off to a phenomenal start. The winning streak for the Sharks continued on June 27 when, in their second swim meet of the PrinceMont League, the Russett Sharks hosted the Smallwood Village Marlins.
It was touch and go throughout the meet and the score was tied going into the freestyle relays, which were the final three events of the meet. The Sharks swept the three relay events and won by 11 points over the Smallwood Village Marlins with a final score of 290.5 to 280.5.
Triple winners for Russett included Allie Ritter in girls 8 and under freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke; Everett Butler in boys 11-12 butterfly, freestyle and backstroke; and Taylor Hicks in girls 13-14 butterfly, breaststroke and individual medley.
Double winners were Paris Hicks (girls 11-12 freestyle and breaststroke) and Michaela Guild (girls 15-18 breaststroke and individual medley).
The road to victory started on June 20, when at the Sharks' first swim meet at Fort Washington, where they won with a final score of 290 to 274. Triple winners included Allie Ritter, Everett Butler, Taylor Hicks and Michaela Guild. Double winners June 20 included, Lauren Ritter, Chris Marx and Meische Cox.
Congratulations to all the Sharks for each and every one of you are shining stars.
