Congratulations to Anastasia MacDonald and Jody Cutler, co-owners of Nest in the Clarksville Square Shopping Center. The ladies are thrilled to announce that for the second year in a row Nest has won Baltimore Magazine's Best of Baltimore for the Green Goods (Save) category.

There were two categories for Green Goods, Save and Splurge. They were especially pleased to be picked as the reasonably priced winner. Choosing organic and sustainable is always a bit of an investment, but an effort is made at Nest to keep prices affordable.

Way to go, gals.

Summer passes all too quickly for some of us. Here we are in the midst of the Howard County Fair already. Please remember to call or e-mail to share your fair experiences and observations.

What's on the schedule for the last two weeks of the free summer Courtyard Concert series at River Hill shopping center? The Ellis Woodward Trio will be performing Friday, Aug. 14 from 6-8 p.m. Naked Blue will be wrapping up the season Aug. 21. Come out and enjoy the music while you can.

Bark, Nest, Roots Market, Great Sage and Biago Salon and Spa of Clarksville Square Center send many thanks to those who attended the July Conscious Corner Women's Night. Nearly $600 was raised for Success in Style. To learn more about SIS, go to www.successinstyle.org.

Have you submitted your nomination for the Oct. 5 Women's Night? All men and women young or old are welcome to nominate a local Howard County woman who is overcoming adversity and deserves a makeover. Explain why your nominee is deserving.

Include a current photo. Deliver your submission to Biago Salon and Spa, 5809 Clarksville Square Drive, in Clarksville, or e-mail lldayspa@verizon.net or info@nestnaturalhome.com by Saturday, Aug. 15.

Don't delay. Time is running out.

Two lucky women will receive makeovers by Biago Salon and Spa. One will be clothed by Nest. The other will be clothed by Simply Divine. In your nomination, you might want to mention if your candidate is inclined to the natural look or not.

Kudos to Felix Lee and Kevin Li. Both Clarksville students have been on the Maryland Youth Symphony Orchestra tour of Italy this summer. It sounds like a delightful way to spend the summer.

Felix is principal clarinet and Kevin plays trumpet. Students from Glenwood, Glenelg, Cooksville and Sykesville were also representing western Howard County on the tour.

We have many outstanding young musicians in Clarksville. Perhaps some will want to audition for the Maryland Youth Symphony Orchestra. Auditions are scheduled for Aug. 22 and 29 and Sept. 5 and 12 at CCBC Catonsville, Fine and Performing Arts Building, Q121.

The MYSO will be starting its 46th season conducted by its founder, Angelo Gatto. For more information about auditions or the orchestra's concert schedule, go to www.myso.info.

Hey, we have new neighbors. Robb Long and his wife, Chris, as well as daughters Abigail (age 12) and Sarah (11) and the family's two dogs recently moved into the long-time residence of Francis T. and Polly Bryan on Route 108.

Robb is the pastor of the Triadelphia Seventh-day Adventist Church, on Brighton Dam Road. Since their arrival in Maryland last November, the family has made several moves from temporary housing and a house that was recently sold after an extended time on the market.

They are looking forward to staying put in Clarksville for some years to come and getting better acquainted with the community.

Welcome. It's great to have you in the neighborhood.
