A North Laurel family is searching for their 5-year-old female white German shepherd, Abby, who was lost Dec. 11.

Abby has been spotted several times in the North Laurel area near Gorman Road, around the townhomes near Savage Library, and in Savage Park. She was last seen on Knights Bridge Road near Stebbing Court on Dec. 24 around 5 p.m.

Her family said Abby is a wonderful companion and was lost while in an area she didn’t know, and is likely scared, hungry and wary, and might be apprehensive when approached.

Volunteers from the Mid-Atlantic German Shepherd Rescue Organization have helped search for Abby, and Dogs Finding Dogs have also assisted in the search.

Residents may have seen her wandering or foraging, or someone may have befriended Abby and taken her into their home, not realizing she is lost from a loving family.
