Fresh blueberries, watermelon, tomatoes, zucchini and potatoes. Two words. Jenny's Market.
Unless you've been living under a rock, you certainly have seen the whimsical "come on" signs which beckon folks to Jenny's Market on East Ivory Road. For those who have not yet tasted of the Jenny's Market feast, now is the time.
Open every day, the team at Jenny's, which is a family affair like no other, is always ready to fill up a bag or two for you whether it's with farm fresh melons or just-picked carrots.
I make sure to stop by there several times a week. The displays at Jenny's are fabulous, the Heigh family work ethic incomparable and the produce simply divine.
Many remark at how artistic the produce displays are at Jenny's Market. Beautiful color combinations of blueberries and lemons, tomatoes and greens, carrots and cucumbers and jars of jams and relishes, make for a gallery of good eating from a family with more than three decades of roots here in West Friendship.
Speaking of artistry. Have you ever visited the website of local residents and photographers Roger and Judith Roark? The West Friendship couple have such a lovely display of their art and their photography, in particular scenes in Ireland, the great National Parks, New Orleans and more, that one can take a summer vacation just by browsing the site.
The Roarks' studio is their home known as Mole Hill or Bryn Gwadd on Pfefferkorn Road, in West Friendship. The website offers an amazing choice of links to their splendid photographs and artwork.

The family friendly musical will be performed at Reservoir High School, in Fulton, Thursday-Saturday, July 22, 23 and 24 at 7 p.m. with 2 p.m. for matinee performances July 24 and 25.

Don't forget. Tonight is the night when you can enjoy a delicious meal and help out an orphanage in Honduras all in one fell swoop. The monthly dinner at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church is set for Thursday, July 22, 6-8 p.m. at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 2892 Route 97 between Glenwood Middle School and the Glenwood Post Office.
Each month the entree changes but the menu always includes chef Brett Arnold's freshly made sauces, salad, bread and a variety of decadent desserts. Yes, it's the same chef Arnold of Glenwood's newest popular eatery, Smokin' Hot.
Tonight the money raised from the feast series will support the St. Andrew's missionaries who are preparing for a work trip in Honduras at the Orphanage El Hogar de Amor y Esperanza (The Home of Love and Hope).
Cost is $9 for anyone older than 6, free for kids younger than 5 and a $30 maximum fee per family. Questions? Call Lynne Quinn at 410-442-5445.
