Lisbon Elementary School is celebrating Earth Day by saving empty printer cartridges and used cell phones from being thrown in landfills.

Used cartridges and cell phones can be refurbished for reuse. Recycling the items with Green School Project, a cartridge and cell phone recycling program, helps keep the used items out of landfills while helping to provide the school with funding to support its many programs.

Lisbon Elementary School is just one group helping to put a dent in the more than 400 million cartridges and 35 million cell phones that are thrown away each year.

Companies and community members interested in supporting Lisbon Elementary School should drop off cartridges and cell phones at the following locations: Lisbon Elementary School, 15901 Frederick Road, Woodbine.
