Kathy and Ken McLaughlin, of Laurel, announce the marriage of their daughter, Marisha K. McLaughlin, to J. Robert Akridge, son of Betty and Eldon Akridge, of Cox's Creek, Ky., on Oct 14, 2007. The Rev. Gary Allred officiated.

The bride earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Elon College, a master's degree in accounting from the University of Tennessee and a master's of business administration from North Carolina State University. She is an accountant with IBM.

The groom received a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Kentucky. He is also an accountant with IBM.

The ceremony and reception were held at The Hudson Manor, in Louisburg, N.C. The maid of honor was Monica McLaughlin and Eldon Akridge served as best man.

The couple honeymooned in England, Scotland and Wales, and resides in Raleigh, N.C.

Kristin A. Collins and Matthew B. Van Osterom

Denise and Gary Collins, of Green Cove Springs, Fla., announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristin Ashley Collins, to Matthew Brian Van Osterom, son of Denise and George Van Osterom, of Woodbine.

The bride-to-be is a 2003 graduate of Clay County High School and received a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Florida in 2007. She currently is in graduate school at the University of Florida.

The future groom is a 2003 graduate of River Hill High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of Florida, where he received a bachelor's degree in marketing. He is a second lieutenant in the Air Force and is in pilot training at Laughlin Air Force Base, near Del Rio, Texas.

A December wedding is planned.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Towson University, where she received a bachelor's degree in communication studies. She is a sales account manager at Aerotek Inc.

The future groom is a U.S. Navy veteran. He is a loan officer at Prosperity Mortgage.

The bride-to-be is a 2000 graduate of Mt. Hebron High School. She received a bachelor's degree in communication from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, in 2004 and a master's degree in international relations from Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey in 2007. She is the director of alumni relations and development for North America for Bilkent University.

The future groom is a 2000 graduate of Wilde Lake High School. He received his bachelor's degree from Franklin & Marshall in 2004, with a double major in government and business. He received a master's degree in international relations from Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey in 2007. He is a business manager for SAIC, in Columbia.

A fall wedding is planned.
