Who doesn't enjoy a good movie? So, with that in mind, Pam Nixon is inviting the entire community to enjoy "Movie Night" May 17. The feature of the night will be "The Ultimate Gift" and will be shown on the grounds of the First Baptist Church of Savage.
The movie, based on the best-selling book, "The Ultimate Gift" by Jim Stovall, sends trust fund baby Jason Stevens on an improbable journey of discovery. Jason finds himself having to answer the ultimate question, "What is the relationship between wealth and happiness?"
Jason had a very simple relationship with his wealthy grandfather, Howard "Red" Stevens -- he hated him. No heart-to-heart talks, no warm fuzzies, just cold hard cash. So of course he figured that when Red died, the whole "reading of the will" thing would be another simple cash transaction to him. But what Red left him was a plan for him to experience a crash course on life. Jason is provided 12 tasks, which Red calls "gifts," each providing great challenge to him. So you have to see the movie to find out the lesson that Jason learns.
Now nothing goes better with a good movie than good friends and snacks. So, Nixon is counting on you to bring the friends and she is going to provide the snacks. The movie will begin showing at dusk (a 7 p.m. showtime is planned), so plan on being there to get a good seat. Enjoy the show!
