Elizabeth Bateman, of Elkridge and daughter of Alan and Carol Bateman, has been inducted into the French Honor Society, Pi Delta Phi, at Washington College in Chestertown. Bateman, a junior English major, who is also minoring in French, is a member of the English Honor Society Sigma Tau Delta and the Writers' Union, and is a graduate of Howard High School.

The following Howard County residents have been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Villa Julie College: Justin Moe, of Ellicott City and son of Anthony and Sue Moe; Robin Lee, of Clarksville and daughter of Jerry and Debbie Lee; Christina Roth, of Ellicott City and daughter of John and Susan Roth; Ashley Wensien, of Ellicott City and daughter of Wayne and Terry Wensien; Sarah Scarmazzi, of Jessup and daughter of Jeffrey and Diana Scarmazzi; Gina Lucido, of Ellicott City and daughter of Joe and Ann Lucido; Brittany Shetterly, of Elkridge and daughter of Williams and Santina Shetterly; Joe Spurrier, of Elkridge and son of Joe and Nannette Spurrier; Blaire Zeitler, of Ellicott City and daughter of Robert and Stephanie Zeitler; Melissa Leach, of Ellicott City and daughter of Erich and Louise Leach; Andrew Leishear, of Highland and son of Bill and Margaret Leishear; Richard Haney, of Elkridge and son of Richard and Theresa Haney; and Brittany Koehler, of Ellicott City and daughter of Tom and Trish Koehler.

Mary Forsyth, of Ellicott City, has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at St. Joseph's University, in Philadelphia.
