The Ladies Auxiliary of St. Michael's Catholic Church held its semi-annual Friendship Tea Party recently. There were more than 50 ladies in attendance, who enjoyed tea sandwiches, fresh scones, pasta salad, delicious desserts, and of course, a variety of gourmet teas.
Many ladies wore their best hats to really dress for an afternoon tea. Rosemary Millard Glusick gave a presentation on "English Afternoon Tea." Glusick grew up in England, where she enjoyed afternoon tea with her mother.
She and her family moved to New Mexico, in 1975, where she started her tea party business. Glusick studied the history and the process for giving a proper English afternoon tea for one year before she was ready to venture out on her own. She began by giving tea parties to high school students, as part of their academic curriculum.
For more information on Glusick's tea parties, call 410-799-6989.
