The following Howard County residents have been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, R.I.: Katelyn Rubright, of Ellicott City, who is pursuing a bachelor's degree in sports entertainment event management from the Hospitality College at the Providence campus; Jared Radas, of Highland, who is pursuing a bachelor's degree in culinary nutrition from the College of Culinary Arts at the Providence campus; Sarah Draper, of Ellicott City, who is pursuing a bachelor's degree in sports entertainment event management from the Hospitality College at the Charlotte, N.C., campus; Carolyn Frassica, of Ellicott City, who is pursuing an associate's degree in culinary arts from the College of Culinary Arts at the Providence campus; and Eunyoung Lee, of Ellicott City, who is pursuing an associate degree in baking and pastry arts from the College of Culinary Arts at the Providence campus.
Peter Smith, of Laurel, and a junior at Clemson University, has been inducted as vice president-elect into Beta Gamma Sigma, the national honor society for business majors, on April 4. Smith, a 2005 graduate of Reservoir High School, is majoring in finance.
Paul Gifford, of Jessup, and a graduate student at Loyola College, has been elected for membership in Alpha Sigma Nu, the honor society of Jesuit colleges.
Megan McMahon, of Glenelg, and a junior majoring in communication studies, has been initiated into the Epsilon chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, the communication studies honor society of the National Communication Association, at Lynchburg College. In addition, McMahon also was initiated into Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society at Lynchburg, on April 15.
Adam Zeccardi, of Laurel, and son of Carmine and Elizabeth Zeccardi, has been named to the dean's list at Palmer College of Chiropractic, in Port Orange, Fla. Zeccardi is a 1997 graduate of Hammond High School and an alumnus of the University of Maryland, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology.
Courtney Lyons, of Glenelg, and a junior in the College of Arts & Sciences at American University, has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester. Lyons is majoring in literature.
Kristin Ingram, of Clarksville, and a senior in the Kogod School of Business at American University, has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester. Ingram is majoring in business administration.
