Erickson Retirement Communities, a developer/manager of communities for people over age 62, in Catonsville, has appointed Kurt Krummel, of Ellicott City, as the new vice president of procurement.

Hospice of Baltimore and Hospice of Howard County, Maryland's largest hospice organization, announced that both locations are changing their name to Gilchrist Hospice Care. The new name was developed to create a unified brand that will increase awareness and recognition, while positioning the Hospice for future growth. Gilchrist Center is currently the name of the Hospice's renowned 24-bed inpatient facility, in Towson. In addition to a new name, logo and brand identity, Gilchrist Hospice Care has adopted the slogan "Guiding the way," which is meant to convey that Gilchrist will strive to always lead, by setting the standard of care for all others to follow.
