Cynthia A. Sobus and Jeffrey B. Allen

Martha and Jerome Sobus, of Ellicott City, announce the marriage of their daughter, Cynthia Ann Sobus, to Jeffrey Ben Allen, son of Mary and William Allen, of Lake Worth, Fla., on April 26, 2008. The Rev. Collin Poston officiated.

The bride received an associate's degree in nursing and is a registered nurse in the Critical Care Department of Northwest Hospital Center, in Randallstown.

The groom is an equine dentist, a trade he learned from his father.

The ceremony took place at Church of the Resurrection, in Ellicott City, and a reception followed at Tuscany Farms.

The couple resides in Marriottsvile.

Joanna M. Hubbard and Donald H. Chiarella

Maggie and Steve Hubbard, of Scaggsville, announce the engagement of their daughter, Joanna Margaret Hubbard, to Donald Hugh Chiarella, son of Mimi and Don Chiarella, of Hanover.

The bride-to-be is a 1999 graduate of Atholton High School and a 2003 graduate of Mount St. Mary's College, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She is employed as a second-grade teacher at St. Mary of the Mills School, in Laurel.

The future groom is a 1999 graduate of Howard High School and a 2004 graduate of the University of Maryland where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. He is employed with the Howard County Public School System and is currently teaching at Glenelg High School.

An August wedding at St. Mary of the Mills Church, in Laurel, is planned.

Kerry Weber and Andrew Deming

Karen and Carl Weber, of White Marsh, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kerry Weber, to Andrew Deming, son of Annette and Bill Deming, of Columbia.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Mount Carmel High School; she earned her bachelor's degree from Salisbury University in 2006. She is a registered nurse at University of Maryland Medical Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

The future groom, a graduate of Oakland Mills High School, earned his bachelor's degree from Salisbury University in 2006. He is a regional account executive at Football America.

An August wedding is planned.

Jamie L. Kellner and Michael D. Mahaney

Debbie and Norman Kellner, of Ellicott City, announce the engagement of their daughter, Jamie Lynn Kellner, to Michael Donovan Mahaney, son of Donna Pacen, of Sykesville.

The bride-to-be is a 1997 graduate of Centennial High School. She is employed with Comcast Cablevision.

The future groom graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1993. He is also employed with Comcast.

A June wedding is planned.
