The Volunteer Center Serving Howard County, in cooperation with the Community Emergency Response Network, is recruiting and referring community members to local nonprofit and government agencies who need volunteers for disaster preparedness and recovery. The Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks is looking for volunteers ages 16 and up for the Fourth of July Festival. The celebration will be held Friday, July 4, 5-10 p.m. Volunteers are needed in the children's game area. The schedule will be from 4-8:30 p.m. A volunteer T-shirt will be provided. The Howard County Office on Aging is recruiting volunteers to help at Senior Day at the Howard County Fair Aug. 5. Includes free admission. Volunteers are needed to assist with setup, bingo, prizes and drawing attendees into the 4-H building. Call 410-313-1417 for more information.
