The following is compiled from police reports. The Howard County Times includes descriptions of perpetrators only when the description makes identification possible.

Elkridge/Jessup

Montgomery Road, 7200 block, between 11 a.m. and 5:25 p.m. May 19. Apartment entered by prying open the front door. Nothing stolen.

Old Washington Boulevard, 6000 block, 9:40 a.m. May 19. A witness observed an unknown vehicle in the resident's garage. A hedge trimmer, weed-eaters, a chainsaw and a blower stolen.

Ellicott City

Albeth Road, 11200 block, between 11 p.m. May 24 and 7:30 a.m. May 25. Rear kitchen window broken. Unknown if anything was stolen.

Baltimore National Pike, 8500 block, 4:47 p.m. May 24. Man robbed Crown Express Mart at gunpoint, then fled to the rear of the store with cash.

Long Gate Parkway, 4400 block, 11:30 p.m. May 24. Man entered Carrabba's restaurant and confronted the manager. The man held a gun to the manager's back and demanded access to the safe. The manager opened the safe and the man fled with cash.

West Spring Drive and Town and Country Boulevard, 7:40 p.m. May 21. Girl and her parents came to police station to report a robbery.

Jay Em Circle, 4000 block, 2:45 a.m. May 20. Resident heard noise followed by footsteps outside her residence. Resident turned on all exterior lights. Later, resident found a hanger stuck in the frame of a rear basement window.

Savage/North Laurel

Stebbing Way, 9000 block, 12:47 p.m. May 24. A four-wheeler stolen from a back porch.

Stebbing Way, 9000 block, 1:57 p.m. May 24. A person told police that people were staying in an apartment that was supposed to be vacant. Five juveniles were taken into custody.

Old Dorsey Run Road, 8500 block, between April 23 and May 23. Residence entered by forcing the front door open. Unknown if anything was stolen.

Seventh Street, 9400 block, between 3 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. May 22. Open garage entered, bicycle stolen.

Cygnet Place, 9000 block, between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. May 22. Residence entered through locked patio door. Video game system and laptop computer stolen.

Autumn Way and Castleford Drive, 10:55 p.m. May 22. Two men holding guns attempted to rob three boys. The boys were walking when the men approached them and went through their pockets. The men did not take anything and fled.

Whiskey Bottom Road, 9200 block, 9:06 a.m. May 21. A Saturn car stolen.

Kings Post, 9300 block, 9:37 a.m. May 21. Man observed looking into the window of the residence. Witness gave a description of a man and officers were able to locate him a short distance away. The man, who was arrested, was in possession of a screwdriver.

Washington Boulevard, 8200 block, between 3:40 p.m. May 19 and 6 a.m. May 20. Storage unit entered at EZ Storage rented by RJ Bell Roofing Co. A compressor, a nail gun and a power washer stolen. Items had been removed and the storage unit locked again.

Clarksville/Fulton

Montpelier Road, 7500 block, 4:55 a.m. May 27. Police responded to the La Palapa 2 for a business alarm and found glass front door broken and cash stolen.

Scaggsville Road, 12000 block, between 11 a.m. and 11:20 a.m. May 19. Occupant of residence told police that an unknown male rang the doorbell to the residence, but he did not answer it. Approximately 20 minutes later, the occupant observed the same male in the rear of the residence with a crowbar. The person used the crowbar to pry open a rear window and entered the residence. The occupant chased the male away from the residence.

West County

Frederick Road, 12800 block, 10:44 p.m. May 22. Gray Ford Explorer stolen.

Re: Residence entered through locked patio door. Video game system and laptop computer stolen. - That is the problem with sliding doors, the factory latches don't prevent the door panels from being lifted out and over the tracks. Our area has had a rash of these type of break-ins so I had a guy from this company install an after market lock that works great. You can buy them on his website too http://www.safeslider.com frank - brandtastic
