Dazzle Dash Weekend 2008> The official kickoff to the 15th annual Symphony of Lights takes place on Saturday, Nov. 22 and Sunday, Nov. 23. Saturday, 5-8 p.m., runners only. A fun run through the lights and post-run refreshments. Sunday, 4-8 p.m., walkers only. Family friendly entertainment, children's crafts & activities, give-aways, food, drinks, sweet treats and more. Glenwood Community Center's Holiday Vendor Fair> The event offers unique gifts and home décor. Saturday, Nov. 22. 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Free admission. The center is at 2400 Route 97 in Cooksville.

National Science Foundation Scholarship Program of Howard Community College> Launch your future in the sciences through HCC's new NSF Scholarship Program for academically talented and financially eligible students majoring in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Pre-matinee English Tea at Marriotts Ridge High> The Art Club/NAHS will serve a traditional English tea on Sunday, Nov. 23 at 12:30 p.m. in the commons prior to "The Importance of Being Earnest" matinee. Students prepare and serve savory and sweet snacks along with a selection of teas. You get to take home the handmade tea cup you use. Tea cup selection is in order of ticket purchase. No more than 75 tickets will be sold. There will also be handmade journals, totes, travel mugs and small art works for sale. Play and Tea tickets purchased separately. Tickets are $10 and will not be sold on day of the event. Email Laverne_Miers-Bond@hcpss.org with the number of tickets requested, then place checks made out to MRHS in her box. Please hand deliver cash.
