Dr. David Levy from the Jarnac Observatory in Vail, Ariz., will speak on utilizing astronomy and space science to spark STEM workforce development at Capitol College on  Thursday, Nov. 19, at 10:30 a.m. in the Avrum Gudelsky Memorial Auditorium (for directions, go to www.capitol-college.edu). Levy’s lecture is part of the President’s Forum series presented by the Innovation and Leadership Institute.

Levy, an author and Emmy-award winner for a Discovery Channel documentary, is currently involved with the Jarnac Comet Survey. Along with Eugene and Carolyn Shoemaker, Levy is credited with the discovery of the Shoemaker-Levy 9 comet that collided with Jupiter in 1994.
