On May 24, Presidential Scholar Meghan Kimberly Carpenter graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of New Hampshire, with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, a Bachelor of Arts in theater dance and a minor in criminal justice.

Additionally, Carpenter is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Golden Key Honor Societies and was the recipient of the Jean Maddox Memorial Scholarship in dance.

In addition to her academic life, Carpenter danced with the University Dance Theatre Company for four years. This summer, she will perform with Seacoast Repertory Theater in Portsmouth, N.H., in "Pajama Game" and "Rocky Horror Show," while auditioning for the fall.

Meghan was a 2004 graduate of Bryn Mawr School, in Baltimore. Her parents, Karen and Timothy Carpenter, live in Ellicott City; her sister, Katherine, lives in Columbia; and her grandmother, Nina Travers, lives south of Cambridge, Md.
