The Buck Hill Quartet starts off this year's Montpelier fall jazz series on Friday, Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. All series concerts are Fridays at 8 p.m. at the Montpelier Arts Center, 9652 Muirkirk Road.  Other performances are: Oct. 2, Carl Grubbs; Oct. 9, Frederic Yonnet; Oct. 16, Esther Williams and Dave Yarborough; Oct. 23, Robert and Chuck Redd with Tommy Cecil; Oct. 30, Cedar Walton; and Nov. 13, Steve Abshire Quartet. Series tickets are $120 for all seven concerts and go on sale Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 8:30 a.m. Individual tickets are $20 per concert, $18 for seniors and Montpelier members, and go on sale Tuesday, Aug. 25.  Call 301-377-7800.
