Howard County police are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a man they say robbed a Columbia bank July 18.

The robbery occurred at about 11:48 a.m. when a man entered the Wachovia Bank in the 8800 block of Centre Park Drive, in Columbia, implied he had a gun and demanded cash, according to police.

The man stole money from the bank and fled in an unknown direction, police said. No one was injured during the robbery.

Police described the man as black, of short stature, approximately 30 years old, with short hair and a medium complexion, wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.
